Dear Students,

As the Department of Gastronomy and Culinary Arts at Sakarya University of Applied Sciences, our aim is; To train competent kitchen chefs and food and beverage business managers through theoretical and practical training in the field of gastronomy. In accordance with this purpose; In addition to the theoretical information given to you, your creativity skills will be improved through the work you will do in the application kitchen of our university.

Courses in the Gastronomy and Culinary Arts department are carried out by our expert academics within the framework of an academic program that will be useful to you, the candidate kitchen chef and manager of the future. Thanks to the training you will receive in detail, reflecting each step of the production and management levels related to the field of gastronomy, which is explained with the concept of "field to table", after completing your undergraduate education, you will be able to work in various restaurants and kitchens, mass catering establishments, food and beverage departments of accommodation establishments, food and beverage service units of airlines and similar. You will be able to work in many service businesses. You will also be able to continue postgraduate education if you are interested.

Specific to the period we are in,

We are going through difficult times due to the pandemic process that has an impact all over the world. Especially during this period, uncertainties about your profession may cause you to worry. However, the days when these days remain memories, all our students return to our university, and the tourism sector regains its former vitality are very near. We expect you to be patient, understanding and hopeful until that day comes. We would like you to know that we will look for solutions to the problems and provide all kinds of support by being with you so that you, our students, can get through this process in the best possible way.

We did not leave this process idle and evaluated it so that you can receive a better education when you return to school. We aim to offer you a better education with the improvements we have made in our kitchen and the enrichments we have made in the course content. We hope that you will evaluate this process in the most beneficial way for yourself and society.
